Our tailor-made gardening tutorials are suitable for individuals or small groups; our "classroom" is your garden, our aim is to increase your knowledge and pleasure of your own space.
Onsite Commercial Tuition and Training is also available to address skill shortages; tailored to your needs.
Our range of courses include: The Edible Garden, The Practical Garden, The Low Maintenance Garden. The flexible choice of modules, made up of sessions usually lasting between 1½ hours to 2 hours, with practical half day tutorials too, can be tailor made to suit both your garden and your budget. The courses can be weekly throughout a season, or for our Practical Gardening course we may feel that a few tutorials spread across the year will help you keep your garden looking splendid.
If you are thinking about starting an Edible Garden our course will take you from seed to the table, working with you to learn the best techniques to establish a thriving vegetable, fruit and herb garden. We can also help decide the best place in your garden for a separate productive area and design raised beds to fit the space available.
You may just have moved house and inherited a mature garden and now feel the need for the knowledge to keep it at its best. Our Practical Garden tutorials will acquaint you with your garden and the best practices to keeping it thriving.
Our Low Maintenance Garden course will help you choose the appropriate plants, make the most of the existing plants and introduce you to practical pruning. Where necessary we can advise and design ways to make your garden low maintenance, so that gardening is a pleasure not a chore.
For the more advanced gardener who would like to learn more about the technical aspects of horticulture, our courses can include a variety of topics, for example: planting small scale orchards, Forest gardening, Lasagne Planting and even getting to grips with botanical Latin!
Our tutorials can be run on a one-to-one basis, or as a family project, introducing both parents and children to the wonders of the garden. Small groups comprising of two or three friends could be arranged, for example,with three 2 hourly sessions, one in each person’s garden with general topics discussed at each as well as items specific to that person’s garden.
