As it’s a topical subject, we thought letting you know our environmental policy as outlined below,

might be of interest. We already meet the legal requirements for small businesses. It is a complicated area as we come under more than one business category!

Plews Garden Design Environmental policy:

• To reduce, re-use & recycle ‘waste’ where possible.
• To use licensed waste contractors with a good environmental record and policy.
• To send out electronic invoices & correspondence (if client is happy with this arrangement).
• To use organic; recycled; locally sourced or sustainably managed products wherever possible.
• To use peat free potting compost and soil improvers (currently except for ericaceous plants);
  
• To wash & re-use pots for our own stock.
• To use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) schemes for maintenance clients and in our recommendations for design clients. That is to not use chemical pesticides and herbicides without first using biological and cultural methods.
