An outline of our trading terms

For your ease of use, we've broken this into different sections design only, design and build, maintenance, consultancy.

All our services start with a conversation, on phone or on line. Most then require a site visit where we discuss your garden, your aspirations and budget, and I take more details. If you ask us to take on work, I will need a deposit on the agreed price.
Information on our services can be found below, more detailed information, including that relating to your individual circumstances can be provided via email. As we pride ourselves on providing a client-led service, we can offer other garden and horticultural services which may not be itemised below – ask us!
I retain copyright of all my work.

Design only :
You may choose a ‘design only’ service. This can be for a whole garden or a planting design for a border.
For a garden design, I would be pleased to come and meet you at your home and discuss my portfolio and your design requirements.
For a planting design, possibly to give your front garden a facelift or regenerate a tired border, we may be able to converse via telephone and email.
We are happy to work anywhere in the country, or abroad, but certain projects are more cost effective than others. For example, a planting design is easily available. Ask us!

After the meeting I will provide you with a quotation for my design consultancy. Each garden is a different size and each client has different needs so it is not possible to give a fixed price to suit everyone.

Please email us if you would like further details on what is included in a design only package.

Design and Build:
This is the usual ‘package’ chosen by clients, where we deal with the implementation of whole project, hard and soft landscaping, project management. We have an initial design and consultation meeting to discuss what your needs are, your budget, etc and take it from there. Design and build may be fairly straightforward in a small garden, but for most people there are a few ‘layers of complexity’, which is where the Project Management element comes in to ensure the project runs as smoothly as possible with minimum effort on your part. (Providing cups of tea and biscuits is usually a client task, for example!)

If you would like more details, and an example of a design and build project, we can email these to you. Remember, each client is an individual, and we aim to provide a personal service, so we would hope to talk to you about your particular desires and requirements as well.

If I am not project managing the build, I can still be available to create planting designs and plant them, if wanted. I am also available for advice, and site visits. These would be charged for separately.

Maintenance:
This is not the mainstay of our business, but in order to provide an all round service we offer a range of maintenance options.
For example, seasonal maintenance, three visits per year, which is often suitable for communal paved areas linked to offices and blocks of flats or for those clients with large gardens who prefer someone else to prune the shrubs and fruit trees.
Regular maintenance visits are also available; as are ‘one-off’ clear up jobs; and fruit tree pruning
We have a maintenance team and work singly or in combination depending on the job in hand, so the personnel may vary.

Further details of our services can be emailed to you, and, of course, we are happy to discuss individual requirements.

Consultancy:
Don’t panic! Whatever your horticultural or general garden problem (soggy lawn, an invasion of alien weeds…) we will aim to find a solution.

We can advise commercial and domestic clients on a wide range of queries and suggest specialist firms to resolve the problem where necessary.

If you need some more general advice, I am happy to wander around your garden with you and write up a report on the issues we discuss. Some commercial clients have found this a useful forward planning exercise for their maintenance budget.

I can also offer individual tuition sessions in your own garden so you can learn why carrots are best grown in a raised bed, or why you should cut flowers for the house.

To discuss your particular requirements, please get in touch via email or telephone.
