Green Waste removal PDF Print E-mail

Our policy is to recycle both green and non-green waste wherever possible. The following options are suggested, some are applicable for occasional, large amounts, some for small, regular amounts. You may like to consider a compost bin as this will take soft garden waste as well as kitchen waste. Most local councils have special offers for residents.

We bag & load green waste and take to recycling facility. Average cost for a full load £20. Smaller amounts can be "accumulated", eg stored temporarily in your garden until a full load is gathered.

Here are some other suggestions:

  • local council scheme-green bags /labels-most councils run these where they collect on specific days. Ring your council for details. Average cost: 1 bag + label £1
  • local council scheme - green garden waste bins - collected in the same way as your other recycling items. Ring your council for details
  • skip companies have to recycle at least 70% of their waste; the companies we use aim to recycle more than the minimum; better suited to mixed loads
  • "Hippo" waste bag scheme - contents are collected & recycled. Useful if you have mixed or heavy waste. Bags (about size of a bath) need to be purchased from DIY or similar store. Average cost £70, including collection; better suited to mixed loads
  • "man & van" some but not all recycle; we would only use licensed operatives who recycle to minimum requirements; better suited to mixed loads

Whichever way you choose to dispose of your green waste we will work with you whilst working with you.
